Artist Statement
I used to look out at Shell Creek and think about the wonderful paintings it would make. Brush or pastel in hand, I could not put down a mark. I did not know what came first. These are my first attempts to tame that forest jungle. Today, I am no longer paralyzed by the chaos of nature. This series was about learning the extent of my freedom. Sheila Siden
